Jerry Jordan of First Interstate tapped to lead Cleveland Fed. (First Interstate Bancorp., Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland) (Brief Article)

Prominent bank economist Jerry L. Jordan has been named president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the bank announced Tuesday.

He will assume the post March 10.

Mr. Jordan, chief economist of First Interstate Bancorp in Los Angeles since 1985, holds a doctrine in economics from the University of California in that city.

He began his career in 1967 as an economist at the St. Louis Fed and rose to the post of senior vice president and director of research before departing in 1975.
