FED: Aborigines urged to seek vaccinations

CANBERRA, Feb 3 AAP - Indigenous Australians have been urged to vaccinate themselves
against influenza and pneumococcal disease, which causes life-threatening respiratory
illnesses.

Respiratory disease is the third highest cause of death in indigenous people and a major
cause of hospitalisation, federal Health Minister Michael Wooldridge said today.

Aboriginal people in Western Australia were admitted to hospital two to 16 times more
